L’Eroicaaaaah

Just bumped into this! Excellent video about the famous Heroic Chianti Cycling Race held in Tuscany, through “strade bianche” (gravel white roads). This race is an important “Italian Classic” event, often considered as a Italy’s equivalent to France’s Paris- Roubaix.

Thanks to Edouardi Sepulchro who did the race and some interviews, we can have a real feel of how amazing this race is for the participants as well as spectators. To see the pics : edouardi.tumblr.com

L’Eroica en images

Ils sont beaux, ils sont jeunes (ou moins jeunes), ils ont le style et la gagne (même sous la pluie), j’ai nommé les coureurs de L’Eroica 2010. C’était ce weekend, avec quelques gouttes malheureusement, mais la bonne humeur était au rendez-vous.

Normalement avec du soleil, Gaiole ressemble plutot à ça, avec bien-sûr la petite dégustation des produits locaux incontournable.

Et pour les accros du vintage, c’était l’occasion idéale de dénicher la perle rare. Tiens, Marc Sich était de la partie.

Ascension estivale

Cet été certains sont allés à la plage, d’autres en voyage à l’autre bout du monde, quelques uns sont restés travailler mais y en a un qui s’est tapé le col du Stelvio en fixie et short en jean! Le cycliste Patrick Seabase a roulé, transpiré, lutté pendant 45 km pour atteindre le plus haut col de montagne d’Italie perché à 2758m. Une belle prouesse filmé avec brio!

Ride Pizza Chianti

Dans moins de 2 semaines démarrera la course rétro cyclisme L’Eroica sponsorisée par notre bien aimée marque Franchouillarde Le coq Sportif. Comment ne pas résister quand on voit ce qui nous attend : des petits chemins perdus dans les collines bordées de cyprès, une caravane du Coq flamboyante, un ravitaillement de pancetta, jambon de parme et tutti quanti sans oublier un ptit coup de Chianti, bref une belle escapade qui nous replongera dans les souvenirs de vacances!
Ca se passe donc en Toscane, du 1er au 3 octobre 2010. Plus d’info par ici.

Smacafama

Nouveau venu sur la scène fixie, tout droit venu d’Italie, avec un nom vaguement familier (Macaframa?), Smacafama nous dévoile la promo de leur film après 2 mini teasing sur Vimeo qui nous laissaient un peu sur notre faim.

BTW, for the ones like me who wonder what “Garibaldina” means, well I am still searching for the exact meaning, so far it can be :

- a red shirt that General Garibaldi and his peers used to wear

- a follower of Garibaldi

- in tribute to the hero’s exploits, it is also an adjective meaning bold or audacious
