Fixie Docu

Minimal, aesthetic, different… all you wanted to know about the fixed gear movement, its origins, its fashion, its reasons to attract so many people. 20 min. of images, interviews and nice tunes put together in this excellent documentary  by bobwhiteprod.

And if you have a chubby dog you’ll be probably less annoyed by the petfood commercials.

State of mind

When riding a bike, for work or fun, one word comes to mind ‘Freedom’.

Soulcraft : not DIY!

Really nice video of the talented craftsman, Sean Walling, owner of Soulcraft. The film gives us a good glimpse of the process to build a custom steel bike frame and opens the door to Sean’s work zone where the magic happens. Nicely done!

Last minutes with Oden

This video is not about bike, nor fixie rider but is simply the winning overall video from the Inaugural 2010 Vimeo Awards. ‘Last minutes with Oden’ is a documentary by Eliot Rausch filming the last minutes of Oden, a dog struggling with cancer, along with its owner Jason Wood.
Although there is a little bit of bike riding here and there, the video had to land on this blog. I use Vimeo everyday, it makes me smile, have a good laugh, wonder, sometimes feel sad, but I always get amazed by the incredible high quality work and all these brillant artists out there. That’s why Vimeo put together this Festival, to pay tribute to these creative people behind their computer. Well done!

Fixation

Critical success

Remember the Critical Dirt teaser seen on the blogosphere over the summer? Well it looks like the Ertzui boys are finally done with their documentary Critical Dirt – A Study in Crossification. The plot has nothing of extraordinary, it is about a cyclocross event in Germany with 80 riders embarked on a race for 126km and 9 hours. Of course I would not talk about this film if I did not have a soft spot for their work. Although cyclocross is not the most vibrant subject for a film, the way they put their experience, mind, passion and energy in this documentary is strikingly delightful. After watching this 26 min. cyclocross journey, I just remembered that there is nothing better than a bike gathering and some cold beer! Keep on the good work Ertzui Film.

Adrenaline
