Wood floor, salad bowl, beer, they all have one thing in common : bamboo! This famous tree beloved by pandas can grow 60cm (24 in.) per day and is as solid as a rock. No wonder why this tree has already conquered the bike world, it is cheap, eco-friendly, light and tough. I remember having seen these original looking bikes 2 years ago at the Eurobike but when reading the recent article in the NY Times listing numerous bamboo bicycle start-ups and other bamboo related projects, I’m glad to see that the sustainable trend is pedaling up!
